6.0/10

During my recent stay at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa, I appreciated the beautiful views from my room, but I was disappointed with the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities. While the location was great for exploring the island and enjoying a laid-back atmosphere, my room had several issues that detracted from my experience. The service from the staff was friendly, but it fell short of my expectations, especially in terms of room upkeep.

My room had a strong unpleasant odor, and the cleanliness left much to be desired, with hair found in the shower and a dirty refrigerator. The bed was less comfortable than I hoped for.
Service

The staff was friendly and helpful, but my expectations were not met regarding the timely cleaning of the room. I found myself needing to reach out for assistance more than I would have liked.

I found the food options limited and overpriced. Although room service was available, the quality of the meal I received was disappointing, including an expired dessert.

While the pool area was pleasant and relaxing, I encountered maintenance issues with litter in the outdoor hallways and bird droppings on some surfaces.

My stay at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa had its ups and downs. The views of the San Diego skyline were amazing, and the friendly staff made me feel welcome. though the ongoing renovations were a bit disruptive. I enjoyed my spacious room, but the breakfast buffet left something to be desired with its limited selection. Overall, I appreciated the relaxing atmosphere, but I wished for more from the dining options.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay enjoyable. They even moved my room after some inconveniences. but the service at the restaurant was a little slow at times.
Location

The hotel's location is fantastic, right on the water with easy access to the beach and local eateries. It’s just a short walk to the ferry landing area. but the construction did make mobility sometimes challenging.
Dining
6.0
While I appreciated the convenience of on-site dining, I found the breakfast buffet lacking in variety—there were no fresh vegetable cuts available. and the prices were higher than expected for the quality offered.
Facilities

The pool area was relaxing and well-kept, contributing to a pleasant experience. however, the construction work meant some amenities were limited.

My stay at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa had its ups and downs. While the location is fantastic and the views of the San Diego Bay are stunning, the check-in process was frustrating and the room had issues with temperature control. Overall, it didn’t quite meet my expectations, especially given the price point.

Rooms
6.0
The room size was spacious, but I struggled to get the temperature above 63 degrees. It ended up being quite uncomfortable. Plus, I noticed stains on the carpet that gave it an unkempt feel.
Service
5.0
The staff was generally friendly and accommodating, but the communication about my room readiness was lacking. I had to keep checking in without receiving a proactive update from the front desk.
Location
Dining

The dining options were decent, yet a bit pricey. I found the food quality didn’t quite justify the higher costs, so I would recommend exploring other local restaurants.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities like the pool looked nice and well-maintained, but I didn't take full advantage of them due to my other frustrations during the stay.

6.8/10

I had a good stay at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa, but it wasn't without its downsides. On the plus side, I enjoyed the spacious room with wonderful views, and the location was perfect for exploring. However, the extra fees for parking and amenities made me feel like I was being nickeled and dimed. Overall, while the experience was pleasant, the costs might deter me from returning.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and clean, with beautiful views of the bay. However, the sofa bed was uncomfortable, which was a drawback during my stay.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and attentive, though I had some issues with communication regarding room service and requests for towels.

Dining

Breakfast was good with a variety of options, but I found it pricey at $54 for two. The staff in the dining area seemed to prioritize making buffet meals seem more economical, which felt a bit pushy.
Facilities
6.0
The pool area was relaxing and well-maintained, but the extra costs for amenities like Wi-Fi and parking felt excessive. Also, the fitness center could benefit from more space and hours.

My stay at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa was mostly enjoyable, thanks to the friendly staff and the beautiful surroundings. The large and clean rooms offered stunning views of the bay, but I did encounter some inconveniences during my stay, like a long check-in wait. Overall, it's a solid choice for relaxation and fun, especially with easy access to local attractions.
